“ Let me start by saying this Succotash is VERY different than the Succotash I enjoyed in 2021. The days of Southern cuisine - fried green tomatoes, crispy catfish, and hush puppies have come and gone. This current Succotash boasts dishes with a twist of Asian flare. Deviled eggs? They now have kimchi. Hush puppies? They are filled with pimento cheese. Fried Green Tomatoes? No. They are now mixed in with a salad. Six of us did enjoy a nice brunch of pecan sticky buns (yummers), unlimited coffee, and delicious breakfast dishes. The Dirty Cobb Salad was tasty. It was huge and made for leftovers. I still like this place, but I'd say the change in menu/flavors/taste might have me trying out some other places in National Harbor next time I visit. A+ service by Kryshion L., especially when we ordered 3 single deviled eggs and they brought out three orders of deviled eggs - three huge plates loaded with numerous eggs. She handled that mix up like a pro. ”
“ Atmosphere is nice, and the food wasn't bad, but there isn't nearly as much Korean inspiration as I had hoped. Menu was a bit unexciting and service was friendly but a bit slow. Options are limited in the area, so this isn't a bad choice. ”
“ Went to Succotash for a Thursday dinner and a Sunday brunch, both times were great. I got the dirty chicken for dinner, wife got catfish, we shared hush puppies and Mac and cheese. All options tasted good! The server was nice, attentive, and have good recs. Cocktails were good, but, if you aren't into whiskey forward drinks, careful with the Manhattan and the coffee and cigarettes (we knew what we were getting, don't worry!) ”
“ Nice ambiance and Darryl the bartender was a great representative of the restaurant. Although he's a die hard Commanders fan this Ravens fan gave him a pass. His food recommendation was on point..DELICIOUS!! ”
“ Came for a special event during the ABCA convention and was absolutely impressed. The atmosphere is really cool and the staff was very friendly. Appetizers were on point and the drinks were made well! Overall awesome spot will absolutely recommend !! ”
“ Great atmosphere, great service, food was good ....especially the cornbread. Pricing was reasonable . The restaurant is at National, so street or garage parking! ”
“ I had to stop by here after watching Class Wars on Netflix! I loved the atmosphere here, this restaurant is in a converted bank and the architecture inside is beautiful. We came on a Thursday night and the place was absolutely packed so I would definitely recommend getting a reservation. We ordered the hush puppies and corn bread to start then the shrimp and grits and gochujang wings as our mains. I was not a huge fan of the hush puppies as I thought they were a little too crispy on the outside for my personal taste. The shrimp and grits was absolutely phenomenal! One of my favorite dishes I've had. It's decadent with a buttery sauce but it is really well balanced so you don't feel super heavy afterwards. The gochujang wings were also good but definitely on the heavier side. The drinks here are so strong, very whiskey forward! ”
“ After attending a conference at the Gaylord, we decided to stop by Succotash before heading home. Our quick visit to the bar turned into a longer stay as we were drawn in by the drinks, food, and excellent atmosphere. The bartender was incredibly friendly and ensured our spot at the bar was spotless and comfortable. What started as a simple "drink and go" moment turned into a memorable experience. My LS ordered the Hey Peaches, a frozen cocktail featuring Jim Beam bourbon, peach iced tea, and lemonade. She loved it and found it to be the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. I opted for a classic Lemon Drop Martini with Tito's, and it did not disappoint. As we enjoyed our drinks, hunger set in, so we ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings--absolutely delicious and packed with flavor! I initially planned to try the Fried Green Tomatoes, but they came as part of a salad that I wasn't in the mood for at the time. Hopefully, they'll offer them as a stand-alone appetizer in the future. The highlight of the visit was when I caught a smoky rosemary aroma wafting through the bar. Curious, I asked the bartender about it and discovered it was from their Lemon Tree libation. Made with Wheatley Vodka, St. Germain Elderflower, fennel, rosemary, and lemon, it was impossible to resist. The drink was just as delightful as it smelled--bright, herbal, and refreshing. My LS enjoyed another round of her Hey Peaches, and we both left more than satisfied. Succotash is a fantastic spot, whether you're looking for a quick drink or a leisurely experience with great food. The drinks are creative and expertly crafted, the food is flavorful, and the service is warm and attentive. We can't wait to return! ”
“ First Time Customers Date Night Customer Service- Our experience was great our server took her time to explain the menu, provided suggestions, and answered all of our questions. Asked the chef to accommodate a substitution to the menu selection that we chose due to my food allergy. For this, I was truly grateful! Food Our recommendation and thanks to our server for persuading us. We selected Taste of the South and so glad we did. We had the opportunity to taste a little bit of everything. Our favorites were: The smoked chicken wings, fried chicken & waffles, cornbread, collard greens, and to our surprise the macaroni & cheese. Ambiance- Perfect setting for a date night. Super romantic Parking- Plenty of parking for a fee in the garage 1/2 block from the restaurant. #pickyapproved #CapCut #succotash #datenightideas #oxonhillmaryland #nationalharbor ”
“ I came here for a birthday dinner recently on a Wednesday evening and our party of 7 was promptly seated. The waitress came over quickly and it started out great. She went over popular food and drink items then asked about food allergies. Our intention was to get the family style meal but unfortunately our waitress assumed it would not work on dietary restrictions - but everyone knew just to avoid what the could not have. After a couple of moments convincing the waitress we were certain about that family meal, the food rolled out and there was plenty! And a good variety of items as well. The food came out quickly and kept on coming. We all left with a bag of left overs. There were some hiccups with the bill but the manager handled ot very well. I took away a star because the waitress could use a bit of coaching, but with some guidance, I'm sure here customer service will be stellar. I will definitely recommend Succotash for large parties dining at the harbor. ”
